How to play 2048 Cupcakes
In 2048 Cupcakes, every move slides all the cupcakes on the 4x4 board as far as they can go in one direction. When two identical cupcakes bump into each other, they merge into the next cupcake up, and your score grows by the value of the new tile. After each move a new Vanilla Cupcake (2) or, now and then, a Strawberry Cupcake (4) drops onto an empty square.
- Keyboard: arrow keys or W, A, S and D.
- Phone or tablet: swipe on the board.
- Undo: take back your last move.
- Numbers: show each tile's value in the corner, handy while you learn the order.
The game ends when the board is full and no two neighbors match. The step-by-step rules, with scoring examples, are in the how to play 2048 Cupcakes guide.

2048 Cupcakes tips: reach the Christmas Cupcake
- Pick a corner and keep your biggest cupcake there.
- Use two directions most of the time, a third when you must, and the fourth almost never.
- Build a chain along one edge, each cupcake one step below its neighbor, so merges cascade.

2048 Cupcakes FAQ
Is 2048 Cupcakes free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no sign-up, no download and no app. Your board and best score are saved on your device, so you can close the tab and pick up later.
Can I play 2048 Cupcakes unblocked at school?
This is a plain web page with no download or plug-in, so it opens on most school Chromebooks and laptops. If your school network blocks game sites, it may block this one too; play during breaks and follow your school's rules.
What is the last cupcake in 2048 Cupcakes?
The 2048 tile is the Christmas Cupcake, and reaching it wins the game. If you keep going, every tile past 2048 becomes the Gold Cupcake. The full order is on the cupcake list.
Does this version have undo?
Yes. The Undo button takes back your last move, once per move. It even works after a game over, so one bad swipe does not end a long run.
Is there a Christmas or Halloween version?
Yes. The Christmas edition swaps in candy canes, snowmen and a tree, and the Halloween edition uses ghosts, bats and a jack-o'-lantern. Each keeps its own best score.
Who made 2048?
The original 2048 was made by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014 and released as open source. This cupcake version is a separate fan game with its own code and art, inspired by his game.
